Enjoying a wonderful coastal location, Salty Lodge is a light and airy single-storey, detached property, with fantastic sea views across to the Isle of Wight. It has a large, decked sitting-out area to the rear – ideal for alfresco dining or enjoying a drink on a warm evening, and where beautiful sunsets can also be viewed. At the end of the back garden there are steps over the low wall directly onto the pebble/sandy beach, and fishing is available nearby. When the tide goes out it makes a great crabbing area, with many pools along the sand. Salty Lodge has been refurbished in 2018 and offers modern and tastefully presented accommodation for couples or families.
Hayling Island is well known for its sailing activities, it is sheltered by the Isle of Wight, making it ideal for watersports activities. It is renowned for its windsurfing, kayaking, power boating, jet ski-ing, kitesurfing and wake boarding. Local paddle boating and windsurfing lessons are available close by. Every year there is a national windsurfing event, and a hive of sailing and nautical activity can be seen along the coastline. Walk the Hayling Billy Trail, which starts at the former railway line where the theatre now is, or take a pleasant amble overlooking Langstone Harbour.
Many activities can be enjoyed locally for all ages, including a seaside railway and a small amusement park for the children. For the sports enthusiast, Seacourt is also worth a visit, with 5 racket sports including real tennis. Also, nearby activities including golf, horse riding, boat trips and scenic walks along the water’s edge or scenic walks along the South Downs National Park which are within easy reach. Chichester with its beautiful cathedral, festival theatre, pedestrianised shopping, leisure centre, Roman Villa and Goodwood or Fontwell races, it’s definitely worthy of a visit. Visit Portsmouth with waterside dining, ferry trips to the Isle of Wight, designer outlets, Natural Museum, leisure facilities, Spinnaker Tower, HMS Victory, or the maritime history at Southampton. Winchester with its cathedral, abbey and The New Forest are within easy driving distance. Plenty of National Trust homes and gardens can also be discovered nearby. Beach 4 yards. Shop 220 yards, pub and restaurant 330 yards.

Superb sea break. Location and accommodation were just perfect for a mini getaway. Fabulous walks and a great view of sunrise but even more spectacular sunsets.
