This 19th-century character cottage has always belonged to seafaring families; an early owner was captain of the Trinity House light vessel at Lowestoft, known as the Corton light ship. Owners from the 1950s were among founder members of Wells Sailing Club with a long standing family connection to the Wells lifeboats and Trinity House pilotage. Nestled in quaint and pretty Jolly Sailor Yard on the East Quay, it lies detached within a peaceful designated conservation area and despite being just a few steps from the harbour, it is free from traffic noise, so you can be sure of a good night’s sleep. The wood panelled dining room and kitchen create a cosy atmosphere and the living room has an original art deco fireplace and oak floor. There are two bedrooms, with the twin bedroom being accessed through the double room.
Wells-next-the-Sea has so much to offer that you will be tempted to park up and explore everything on foot but it is also very close to Holkham Hall and Estate. You will find sailing and fishing trips, an array of traditional and artisan shops, and lots of lovely places where you can eat and drink including a new restaurant opening in May by an award winning sommelier and maître d’. Trinity Cottage is also a short walk from the charte trips offered by the famous ex lifeboat Lucy Layers. You can hop on the Wells and Walsingham Light Railway and take a trip to picturesque Walsingham to see the National Shrine of our Lady or travel to Wells beach on the bus provided by Holkham estate. Head east and explore Blakeney for a spot of crabbing; Sheringham for the North Norfolk Steam Railway, golf course and Sheringham Park, or Cromer with its famous pier and Edwardian seafront. Or head west and experience all the fun of the fair in Hunstanton, where you will also find a Sea Life Centre. Afterwards you can return to Trinity Cottage to relax, unwind and dream of adventures yet to come. Beach ¾ mile. Shop, pub and restaurant 100 yards.
