The house is a fully restored Quercy style barn with a large, sunny, west-facing, private garden in a small hamlet. It's about 1km from the nearest village of Thegra, where you will find a bar/hotel/restaurant, baker, hairdresser and doctor.
On the ground floor is a double bedroom; a twin bedroom; kitchen; dining room; lounge; toilet; family bathroom and laundry. Upstairs is 1 further bedroom, with an en suite shower room; and a further toilet; and a library.
Outside is a paved patio area, with a covered terrace and a large, private garden...and, of course, the pool.
The garden is mainly laid to lawn, but with quite a few trees for shade and lots of fruit, depending on when you travel.
The pool is on the west side of the building and is in full sun from about 1100 onwards. It has a wooden terrace, with sun loungers, umbrellas and an alarm system.
There is ample parking at the house for several cars.
The house has a detailed guide to the region, including places to visit, local restaurants and important phone numbers.
Thegra has a beautiful chateau and church and is a short walk away.
You'll be less than 10 minutes from the Gouffre de Padirac, tickets for which should be booked online to avoid the crowds.
Rocamadour is about 20 minutes away and is a must visit site in the region. Not only can you climb the steep steps to the top, but also you can walk the stations of the cross. The main tourist office in the area is at the top of the village, near the chateau.
Nearby is the village of Alvignac, which boasts a casino, spa resort and also the art deco cafe and lake at Salmiere.
you'll be about 45 minutes from the nearest airport with flights to the UK, at Brive/Vallee de la Dordogne; currently Ryanair from Stanstead on Saturdays and Wednesdays.
Cycling, cave diving, tennis, kayaking, walking, running, fishing...no wonder you'll need to fortify yourself with a chocolatine (not a pain au chocolat please - you're in the Occitanie here) and all the other lovely patisserie items on sale. I like the palmiers best! If you want to enter formal sports competitions here, don't forget to bring a medical certificate confirming your suitability for the appropriate sport.
Also nearby are the beautiful medieval towns of Figeac, St Circ Lapopie and Cahors.
So much to see and do...
