The Coach House is one of three stone built cottages in an elevated spot close to Hadrian’s Wall. A very comfortable 3 bedroom holiday home for 5 people. The open plan living room comes complete with a wood burning stove for the cooler evenings and a TV with Freeview. The kitchen is well equipped with all modern appliances, dining table and chairs. Direct access from the living room onto the shared courtyard through a beautiful original stone archway is a lovely feature and the perfect spot to relax and fire up the barbecue after a day out.
This is an excellent base from which to explore the most interesting sections of Hadrian's Wall. Being midway along the stretch of The Wall, the Roman Forts of Housesteads, Vindolanda and Birdoswald can all be reached within a few minutes by car. Excellent for spotting wildlife, scenery and outdoor pursuits - great for walking and fishing and pony trekking, all available locally. Nearby there’s an outdoor swimming pool and tennis courts and the area is well served with a good range of amenities and rail and bus connections. The market town of Hexham with its Saxon abbey is 13 miles east, whilst the Border city of Carlisle is 20 miles west. Easy access to Northumberland National Park, the Lake District, the Dales and the Scottish Borders. Golf, fishing and horse riding locally.
