Step outside the log cabin and you’re in unspoilt countryside at the foot of the Cheviot Hills, take a leisurely stroll along the banks of the river Coquet or fish just metres from the lodge The Northumberland National Park is a haven for wildlife with black grouse, ospreys and otters can be spotted along the the river.. Northumberland is home to more castles and fortified houses than any other region in England. Alwinton is a short drive to the thriving market towns of Rothbury, Alnwick and Morpeth. All three towns have an excellent range of amenities to stock up on provisions or dine out. Alnwick has a magnificent castle to explore and the Alnwick Gardens are great for a family outing.
