Set in a peaceful sunny corner of the estate, the Walled Garden Mews Cottages are located within the historic walls of the old Melfort Estate walled garden, approximately 500 yards from the Inner Village.
The Walled Garden complex includes ten two-bedroom mews-style cottages and one two-bedroom first-floor apartment, all enjoying views across the beautiful gardens and south towards Loch Melfort.
Walled Garden Mews Cottages 1 and 10 also feature wood-burning stoves.
Ample parking is available at the rear of the building, with additional visitor parking just outside the garden entrance. A small leisure area is situated in the centre of the building, which includes a games room with table tennis, pool and an Xbox.
There is also a shared laundry room, communal deep freeze and vending machine. Entrance to each cottage is from the rear of the building into a hallway with drying and coat storage space.
From the hallway, you enter the open-plan sitting room, dining area and kitchen, along with a shower room with large walk-in shower and a master double bedroom with en-suite bathroom.
Stairs lead from the living area to a mezzanine balcony level providing a games or additional sleeping area, and a twin bedroom on the first floor. Each cottage has its own private patio opening from the dining area onto the communal gardens.

The setting is idyllic in lovely peaceful surroundings, nature all around. The cottage is large, airy and bright and everything you could need was provided. Although quite a distance from Oban, the main road was pretty quiet and a pleasant drive. The pool was an added bonus, but the sauna wasn't working. We were there on the hottest weekend of the year, so didn't need the sauna.

We stayed only two nights. The property is about 30 minutes outside of Oban at the edge of a smaller loch and just outside a small village. The staff was very accommodating and helpful, including when we had an issue (likely self-inflicted) with a washing machine. We would definitely stay again, and...

As always our stay was very pleasant. The cottage was comfortable. I noticed that no one filled the bird feeders during our stay which is very unusual as I always think that is so nice.
