Lying within the Northumberland National Park and enjoying panoramic views over Whitelee Fell National Nature Reserve, the cottages are former shepherd’s cottages on the owner’s sheep farm, renovated to a very good standard and retaining lots of character.
Oak Cottage and Birch Cottage have beamed living room ceilings and all three have inglenook fireplaces with multi-fuel stoves for a warm and cosy atmosphere as well as power showers in the bathroom.
There are wildlife cameras which feed live pictures direct to the flatscreen TV in each cottage, so you can watch barn owls, badgers and other wildlife.
The area is rich in wildlife and ideal for walkers.
Whitelee Farm is an idyllic base for exploring the Roman wall, Lindisfarne, Alnwick Castle, Kielder Forest Park and the Scottish borders.
Newcastle and Edinburgh are within an easy drive.
Shopping in Otterburn and Jedburgh, both 15 minutes away. Oak Cottage can be booked together with Birch Cottage (15841) and Rowan Cottage (80119) to accommodate up to 13 people. So pleased we booked this cottage. Never felt so relaxed and house had a beautiful feel to it. Cottage had everything we needed and definitely will be back again. Nice to meet John and Jill - lovely people. Took the dogs every day to Redesdale Forest - great place for them to run and swim. Snow was a bonus. Thanks again

Property is stone built and traditional a little tried but to be expected for a working location. The owners were very welcoming and shared there knowledge of the area.
Nature cameras was a nice extra, watching badgers, deers etc coming to feed.
Lovely walks local.
john and Jill the owners very nice people, would stay again if travelling the region.

A place to charge your batteries, both Jill and John (owners) were more than helpful and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. You do have to travel a distance to find safe walks for the dogs, and it did rain a lot when we was there. The cottage was more than adequate and so clean and warm. Just can’t recommend it higher // Jill & Graham / East Yorkshire
