Close by, visit the natural cavern known as King’s Cave which inspired Robert the Bruce.
Visit the famous standing stone circle at Machrie Moor, which is located in a stunning and mystical setting, on the flat valley floor with a dramatic mountainous backdrop; a photographer’s dream.
There are many ancient pre-historic burial sites around the island, the most well-known is the Giants Graves in Whiting Bay. Lamlash is the ideal centre from which to visit these attractions and there is a very good bus service, should people not want to drive. Perfect location, well equipped and good Wi-Fi. The owners are delightful.
Marked down for local amenities as, unless you’re with EE there’s virtually no phone signal.

We had a wonderful stay at this charming self-catering cottage! It was the perfect size for two people and our dog, who absolutely loved exploring the nearby walks. The cottage was cozy, well-equipped, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. Highly recommend for couples looking for a peaceful retreat with their furry friend.
