Visit The Mermaid Inn, their famous hideout, where the cellars date back to 1156. Visit the Rye Museum and climb St Mary’s Tower for breathtaking views across to Rye Harbour Nature Reserve and Winchelsea.
See Lamb House, the home of Henry James and later E. F. Benson, and where they filmed the recent production of ’Mapp and Lucia’. Another great film location is Camber Sands and going in the other direction towards Hastings where ’Foyles War’ was filmed.
There are also connections by train to London.

Thoroughly recommend this cottage, ideally situated in a quiet area but within walking distance to the centre of Rye. The owners were very helpful and always available without being intrusive.
Very comfortable cottage for 2 people & dog. Will definitely book again in the future.

A very enjoyable, relaxing week in a comfortable cottage, that’s in a great location. Ideal for walks into the countryside, to Rye Harbour or into the quaint historic town for something to eat or a coffee.
Would thoroughly recommend Kiln Cottage.

A very clean, comfortable, well equipped cottage within a few minutes walk of the extremely interesting town centre.
