The open plan design of the lodge gives a feeling of space with the living, dining and kitchen areas are combined to create a social hub. This lodge is ideal for couples and small families looking for a great base in the National Park.
The master bedroom features a kingsize bed, stylish interior design and an en-suite shower room.
Next door you’ll find a comfortable twin room and a separate family bathroom with large shower cubicle.
Outside you have private decking, private parking and amazing fell views.
The imposing Skiddaw offers a superb backdrop for your holiday. You’re in a great location, just a mile from Bassenthwaite Lake and 1¼ miles from Bassenthwaite village, with an excellent pub serving a range of local cask ales and great food that bring a refreshing reward after a day of adventure in the countryside.
Whether you like walking, hiking or cycling, you are never too far away from your next adventure.
You have good access to plenty of walking and cycle routes nearby as well as more challenging fells including Skiddaw, Catbells, Latrigg and Blencathra to name a few. Just 2½ miles away you’ll find the Lake District Wildlife Park with over a hundred species of wild animals, great fun for the family.
Also nearby you’ll find the Lakes Distillery, producers of fine whisky, gin and vodka, offering tasting tours, always a hit with the adults.

Lodge was spotless on arrival with a nice welcoming surprise of a bottle of wine and a box of biscuits. Very good facilities provided and comforting lounge and beds to relax and unwind in. Will definitely be looking to come back and enjoy again!!!

The Watches is a great Lodge, very clean and well presented. We enjoyed the views. Slightly out of the way as it’s about 7 miles to Keswick but not bad. The location is very quiet and peaceful. We really enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to return sometime.

We wanted peace and quiet in a beautiful setting. And we were blown away with how beautiful the views were from Watches. The Lodge felt like luxury and cleanliness was without doubt 100%. The welcome we received made us feel special. We had such a fabulous relaxing break we have booked again for 2024, and recommended to friends and family who have also booked in for 2024.
