Just a short walk from Riding Mill and only a little over 3 miles from Corbridge, guests will find themselves nestled away in this peaceful haven, yet only a few minutes away from excellent facilities and places to visit and explore. The pretty village of Corbridge is a popular destination for guests wanting to enjoy a leisurely walk or cycle along the River Tyne which flows through the heart of the village and out towards the Tyne Valley and Hadrian’s Wall country.
There are numerous places to eat, drink and enjoy the local hospitality as well as the annual Corbridge Festival which offers music, street artists, street theatre, festival stalls and a popular beer tent serving local beer, ales and cider.
The historic market town of Hexham lies just 10 miles away and offers a theatre, swimming pool, leisure centre, race course and golf course, as well as many historic attractions including Hexham Old Gaol and Hexham Abbey, making this the perfect destination for guests of all ages to explore and enjoy.
Tanfield Steam Railway also holds a great appeal to families of all ages and lies just 10 miles away, as well as bustling Newcastle upon Tyne which offers The Sage, The Centre for Life and the Millennium Bridge as well as an abundance of high street shops and designer boutiques.
For guests who enjoy walking or cycling this is also the perfect opportunity to visit Hadrian’s Wall and explore one of the many Roman settlements and forts. 2000 years have passed since the Emperor Hadrian gave his orders to his army to start work on the 84-mile long wall. 73 miles of this wall still snake across the ragged countryside of Northumberland and are some of the best preserved sections.
Popular stops along the way include the world famous Vindolanda, Chesters Fort and Housesteads.
The pretty villages and towns of Allendale, Haydon Bridge and Bardon Mill are also great destinations for a spot of lunch or a home cooked supper.
The scenic beauty of Northumberland is without rival and boasts open countryside, rugged hills and unspoilt woodland.
There is also the fabulous Northumbrian coastline to explore and guests really should take this opportunity to enjoy a day trip to one of the many well-kept beaches including Seahouses, Berwick-upon-Tweed, Lindisfarne and Bamburgh which are all reachable within an hour and a half drive. The Coach House itself offers excellent quality accommodation throughout.
Perfect for guests wanting to get together with extended family or enjoy a family celebration, there is a large living room with wooden floors, high ceilings and a wood burner.
The kitchen/dining room is spacious and well-finished with bespoke, solid wood units and work surface, as well as a range cooker and modern appliances.
The garden room is separate from the main house and is the ideal place to hold a celebratory meal as it houses a large dining table, comfortable sofa and its own wood burner.
The ground floor bedroom is ideal for any less mobile guests and has its own en-suite shower room too. On the first floor guests will find a stunning master bedroom with high ceilings and plenty of space.
There is the added luxury of a double ended, free standing copper bath tub that dominates the room and gives guests the opportunity to really indulge and enjoy their holiday.
There is also a second double bedroom on the first floor as well as a family bathroom.
With ample parking and outdoor space, guests will find The Coach House has plenty to offer to guests of all ages and at any time of year.

We had a lovely time at the coach house, would have been made even better if it were spring to utilise the gorgeous garden more. Wanted to walk to Corbridge but unfortunately the path didn’t run along the road and trail walk too dangerous in places. But had a car so no problem. Visited Roman forts, cragside house and Beamish.

A beautiful property. Comfortable. clean and like a home from home. Lovely big enclosed garden. Situated in a quiet area but within easy reach of nearby towns. Communication for check on was easy. A wonderful place to spend a Belated birthday treat. Dog friendly cottage and Dog Friendly pub close by - The Wellington. Would definitely recommend both. Fingers crossed we will return in the future.
