Just 6 miles from the beach at Pevensey, this detached property lies in the grounds of a windmill.. Step to entrance.
Ground Floor:
Open plan living space: With wooden floor.
Living area: With wood burner, 52" Freeview TV, DVD player, Bluetooth speaker and USB charging point.
Dining area.
Kitchen area: With electric oven, electric hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer.
First Floor:
Bedroom: With zip and link super king size bed (can be twin beds on request) and sloping ceilings.
Bathroom: With shower over bath, toilet and heated towel rail.. Gas central heating (underfloor in bathroom), electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Initial logs for wood burner included. Travel cot and highchair. Welcome pack. Enclosed terrace with garden furniture and BBQ. Covered bike store. Private parking for one car. No smoking. Please note: The zip and link super king size bed can be made into twin beds on request at time of booking. . This beautiful country property borders the grounds of a 200-year-old Grade II* listed windmill, the landmark that gives the village of Windmill Hill its name. The windmill has been carefully restored with the help of the Heritage Lottery Fund, other donors, and a team of dedicated volunteers. It is now an operating windmill, open to the public most Sunday afternoons from Easter to September. House guests can visit the mill at other times by prior arrangement. Entry is free but the Windmill Hill Windmill Trust relies on donations to ensure the continued maintenance of the mill.
Windmill Barn has an enclosed garden to enjoy in the summer and has the benefit of private parking. During the winter you can curl up in front of the wood burner after a brisk walk through the surrounding countryside.
The property resides on some of the highest ground for miles around, and is set within ‘1066 Country’, overlooking the Pevensey Levels National Nature Reserve, beyond which is the English Channel. Visit the seaside town of Eastbourne, notable for its high sunshine levels and holder of the record of the highest amount of sunshine in a month. Take a boat trip and view the breath-taking white chalk cliff coastline known as Beachy Head and the Seven Sisters. Stroll the nature trails within the South Downs National Park, or visit Pevensey Castle, Herstmonceux Science Centre, and the market town of Battle. Golf and fishing are available locally. Beach 6 miles. Shop, pub, and restaurant 300 yards.
It may be worth noting that should you wish to rely on bus services they run at one an hour between 07:26 and 17:55 on weekdays. There are no buses on Sundays.
