Scallop Cottage is a newly renovated, delightfully stylish character property in the heart of Porthleven.
Originally a fisherman's cottage built in 1880 it perfectly blends the traditional features with all the modern decor and appliances guests can expect.
Just a short walk to the harbour and beaches, and even closer to restaurants and shops, this is an incredible luxury cottage that will be the perfect base from which to enjoy your next holiday in Cornwall.
The property sits in the heart of the historic harbour town of Porthleven which boasts many excellent independent restaurants, pubs and boutiques and a well stocked supermarket.
Entering in through the front door, you are welcomed into a wonderfully homely living room, with a feature fireplace boasting an electric wood burner effect fire.
It comes with optimyst technology to provide an authentic log burner experience but without any of the hard work.
With chic styling and generous sofas to sink into, this is an ideal space to unwind in an evening after a long day of exploring the coast.
The kitchen-dining room is a traditional, shaker-style in fitting with the cottage aesthetic while there are all the amenities needed for you, including full oven and hob, kettle, toaster, microwave, and fridge freezer.
A delight to cook in, this space offers the all-important element of having the dining area and kitchen space open as one, ideal for socialising with family at the table as you prepare your favourite holiday breakfast! The dining area offers a rustic wood table and benches, and complete with beautiful complementary kitchenware.
Upstairs, there are two double bedrooms, both with hanging and storage space, and tastefully decorated for a calm and airy feel.
There is also a third bedroom with full size single bed, suitable for either an adult or child, and also offering sophisticated decor.
The stairs are a charming period feature, and being original to the house, care should be taken as they are steep and have reduced headroom.
The family bathroom, also located on the first floor, is in a classic style, offering mains shower over the bath, large basin, and close-coupled WC.
To the rear, there is some private outdoor space which is perfect for storing beach equipment or surfboards, until you are ready to hit sea and sand again the next day! Locally, you are spoilt for choice in this excellent location; there is the National Trust estate of Penrose to visit, Praa Sands, Marazion and St Michaels Mount to the west, and Helford Passage to the East.
The north coast is also within easy reach by car, offering more stunning beaches and coastline such as St Ives, Zennor, and Carbis Bay.
The Lizard and Kynance Cove are also well worth a visit meaning you'll be spoilt for choice with your days out! Flambards theme park - an ideal kids day out - is also only a few minutes drive away.

Scallop cottage was an excellent base for Porthleven, plenty of great walking and cycling. We had some amazing storm watching.scallop cottage is well placed, nice and quiet but very easy access to everywhere. Porthleven has amazing places for food and is easy access for the lizard, Lands End and the north coast. The cottage was comfortable.

Best thing about this place is the location and cleanliness. Agreed with other reviews about the inconvenient (and somewhat dangerous) stairs situation. Place is a bit small, a tight squeeze for 5 people. Good shower, old/loud toilet. Springy, uncomfortable beds, but clean all around. Pretty good kitchen.
A fantastic stay in gorgeous Scallop Cottage

The cottage was beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. It was a lovely space to relax in with lots of classy finishing touches. The kitchen was well equipped and the oven was great. it was a really short walk to the harbour and restaurants in Porthleven.
