It has been converted into a dwellinghouse and the owners have created a truly exceptional holiday home for you to enjoy. Situated in a conservation area in the heart of characterful St Margaret’s Hope, The Legion enjoys views of the harbour and the sea. The attractive harbour house has lovely interiors throughout.
There are two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a study and a wonderful open-plan living space.
The rooms are flooded with natural light thanks to the enormous windows. St Margaret’s Hope on the Orkney Island of South Ronaldsay is a charming, historical and useful place to stay.
Known as The Hope the village dates from the 13th century and many of the harbour buildings date from the 17th century.
The village is close to stunning sandy beaches and the island of South Ronaldsay is connected to other islands -including Orkney Mainland where the capital Kirkwall is located- by the historical Churchill Barriers (causeways). You can be exploring Kirkwall in 25 minutes and be over in wonderful Stromness in 40 minutes.
The Hope is also one of two places where ferries from the north coast of Scotland arrive.
The Gills Bay ferry arrives into St Margaret’s Hope.
