Lovely house and grounds, well equipped with beautiful views. Within easy walking distance (10 to 15 minutes) of Bowness shops, restaurants and the lake. Would definitely recommend. Just be aware the first few minutes walk after leaving the house is along a road with no footpath which can be a bit "hairy" if returning after dark (so take a torch!)

We loved the cottage, it requires a little maintenance, i.e. window in the 2nd bedroom needs repairing as it is cracked, and in the 1st bedroom there is a hole on the window ledge, and several of the pots, glasses etc need replacing, otherwise it was good.

We stayed at Hazelrigg for the second time this year. Perfect base for a week exploring the lakes. The location and setting is amazing with stunning views over Windermere. A short walk into Bowness, either down the road without a footpath for part of the way or an alternative possibly small child friendlier route walking down towards the lake front and car ferry.
