An attractive, Grade ll listed, former fisherman's cottage, situated on the cobble high street in the heart of the picturesque, historic village of Staithes.
Dating back to the 1700s, the cottage is ideal for those wishing to explore the dramatic heritage coastline and the stunning scenery of the North York Moors National Park.
Carefully renovated, great care has been taken to retain and enhance the original features, whilst incorporating modern comforts in this traditional seaside home.
The snug and cosy sitting room oozes charm and character, with stripped wooden floors, beamed ceiling and a warming open fire set in a period cast iron surround, perfect for cooler evenings, whilst the ample selection of books, games and DVDs keep everyone entertained on a rainy day. There is a well-equipped, modern kitchen with a breakfast bar, with the family bathroom leading off. Stairs lead up to the two pretty bedrooms, with the double having dual-aspect windows, with views over the rooftops to the sea. Outside to the front, is a bench beside the cobbles, where you can easily find yourself in the sunshine, spending many an hour people watching.
This quaint and atmospheric village is packed with nostalgia and charm, with a couple of local inns, quaint tea rooms and a couple of shops.
A short walk brings you to the small sandy cove and coble landing, with rock pooling, crabbing, fishing or simply building sand castles on the beach.
Walkers will delight in an exhilarating clifftop walk on the Cleveland Way, which links Staithes with neighbouring villages, such as Runswick Bay and Port Mulgrave, a superb way to explore this Dinosaur Coast.
Nearby Whitby is a must with its famous Abbey, reached by the 199 steps.
With many independent shops, good restaurants, traditional tea rooms and the best fish and chips in Yorkshire, there is something here for everyone! With many attractions in the local area, including the steam railway at Grosmont, the Danby Moors Visitors Centre and boating on the River Esk at Ruswarp, this lovely cottage is well placed for a varied and interesting holiday.

We had a lovely stay at Broomhill View. In a great location and had everything we needed (although a new non-stick frying pan is required). The heating kept us warm once we got used to how it worked. The only downside was 2 flights of stairs down to the bathroom from the main bedroom but we would happily stay again.

I’ve stopped in quite a few cottages in Staithes and Broomhill View was an example of one that had been configured with a lot of thought. The kitchen and bathroom were light and airy thanks to big velux windows and the upstairs bedrooms were light, airy and well proportioned, the double having a beautiful view.

Excellent cosy cottage in a great position. Stayed in many cottages in Staithes and this one we would go back. Lovely views of the sea from the bedroom window, close to the beach, pubs etc. Fab week,
