A charming stone-built terraced cottage, in an elevated position above Ruswarp, surrounded by open countryside and close to Whitby.
One of eight holiday properties on a small site of barn conversions, Goathland Cottage is well placed for exploring both the magnificent surrounding countryside and the pretty coastal town of Whitby.
Set in a quiet, tranquil location in an acre of ground which provides a safe environment for children to play in, the cottage has a large open plan living area, with character beams and a stone feature fireplace with a gas woodburner-effect stove, perfect for cooler evenings.
The living area incorporates a contemporary, well-equipped kitchen and dining table, with a stable door opening onto a small gravelled patio with seating, ideal for relaxing on a balmy summer's day whilst enjoying the superb views towards the river.
Upstairs are three bedrooms, all boasting views over fields and hills.
The immediate area has a good network of public footpaths, with one leading from the doorstep, whilst a short stroll brings you into this popular village, with excellent facilities including a renowned butcher, village shop and a local pub serving food and real ale. Enjoy a relaxed day rowing or salmon and trout fishing on the River Esk, or why not stop for afternoon tea in the riverside café? Children will love a day beside the river feeding the ducks, or a ride on the miniature steam railway.
A five-minute drive brings you into the hustle and bustle of popular Whitby, with its sandy beaches, historic harbour and famous abbey.
Explore the cobbled market square and narrow ginnels, climb the 199 steps up to the abbey or enjoy a boat trip along the coastline, all before stopping for the famous fish and chips! Surrounded by the beautiful scenery of the North York Moors and close to the coast, this cottage provides an ideal base for a family holiday.

Goathland Cottage is a charming, terraced cottage, 0.5 miles from Ruswarp and just under 2 miles from Whitby. There are three bedrooms, each with country views, sleeping five people in total. There's also a bathroom and an open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area. Outside, there is a small, shared patio area with a barbecue and ample off road parking. Approached by a fairly steep road of approximately 600 yards, Goathland Cottage sits in a charming country location and offers a good base for touring the coast and countryside of beautiful North Yorkshire.Note: No hen, stag or similar parties

Cottage was in a great location with lovely views and nice walk into Whitby. Cottage well equipped especially in the kitchen and comfortable seating in lounge. Good storage in bedrooms with comfortable beds. Also a bonus of a lovely restaurant at the bottom of the drive. Would definitely recommend Goathland Cottage

The cottage is as gorgeous as the photos show and is very well equiped. The setting is beautiful, very high up with fantastic views. There was nothing that wasn’t provided for and everything was in excellent order. Thank you Jenny for a lovely week ( despite the weather), I would certainly stay here again.
