Situated in the heart of the friendly and welcoming village of Portknockie is this detached stone-built fisherman's cottage offering smart and extremely comfortable accommodation.
With lots of space spread out over two floors, SLATER'S is a traditional Grade C listed property in the conservation part of Portknockie.
For many years a general hardware store owned by the Slater family, this is an ideal venue for a large family or group of friends who want to explore the fabulous North East coastline of Scotland.
At ground floor level there is the sumptuous master bedroom with en-suite facilities and also a cosy stacker bedroom that can double up as a snug, with a PlayStation 3 and games to keep the children (and adults) very happy indeed.
The sitting/dining room has a welcoming woodburning stove to ensure cosy nights in and relaxed meals around the dining table.
The contemporary kitchen has a breakfast area and every appliance necessary to allow for the easy preparation of great meals.
An external door from the kitchen gives access to the private patio at the rear of the cottage, a great place for quiet morning coffee or a pre-dinner glass of wine.
The upper floor has a bright, fresh shower room and also a double and twin bedroom both benefiting from large bay windows providing pretty views across the rooftops to the sea, or to watch the sun setting over the Caithness Hills.
Being centrally situated there is easy access to the local shops, pub, hotel, chip shop and the lovely harbour, with its outdoor swimming pool for children to enjoy during the summer months.
This part of Scotland has many pretty villages dotted along the rugged coastline.
The Moray Firth is famous for its jumping dolphins and they can be seen from land or by taking one of the many boat trips out onto the open sea. Walkers and wildlife spotters will be in paradise; there's so much to see and experience in this delightful corner of Scotland.

SLATER'S is a superb detached fisherman's cottage situated in the village of Portknockie on the Moray Firth Coast. This cottage sleeps eight people in four bedrooms, consisting of one double, one ground floor double with en-suite shower, a twin and a single with pull-out stacker bed, along with a separate shower room. The cottage also has a kitchen with breakfast area and a sitting room with dining area and woodburner. Outside there's roadside parking and a patio with furniture. SLATER'S is a wonderful family base. This property has a good housekeeping bond of GBP250. Please note: This property only accepts bookings starting on a Saturday

Absolutely fantastic cottage, we really enjoyed it , had everything you needed.
Had to leave a few days earlier than expected and in a hurry while we could get out due to the snow and roads being really bad. Would highly recommend slaters.

It was a nice cottage with the upper bedrooms even offering a view of the sea. We stayed with 7 adults and a teenager and a dog. It was annoying that our dog was only allowed in the kitchen and outside in the yard. That was difficult. For 8 it was a little cramped especially for the meals around the table. Otherwise the cottage was well equipped. Only the tin opener was missing.

Well equipped, roomy and comfortable although an armchair suitable for an older person would be a valuable addition. In particular we appreciated the swift return of a jacket left behind by a teenager!
