A cosy annexe to the owner’s own home, this stone-built cottage is situated close to the centre of the charming village of Great Longstone, in the heart of the Peak District National Park.
This lovely cottage is self-contained and makes an ideal base for cyclists, walkers or a family visiting this area of natural outstanding beauty.
Comfortable and well-equipped, it features two lovely bedrooms and a large shower room.
The spacious open plan living area features a modern kitchen with dining table and a warm and cosy sitting area.
The floor-to-ceiling window provides lots of light, making this an ideal sociable space to enjoy some delicious home-cooking and relaxation at the end of a busy day. Outside, a delightful patio area with water feature provides a lovely spot for a relaxing drink or perhaps some alfresco dining under the covered veranda which is a perfect escape from any showers while still enjoying the fresh air. Great Longstone is an attractive limestone village set around a pretty village green.
There are two olde-worlde pubs, which offer good pub food and real ales, where you can enjoy a bite to eat and rest your walking legs with a well-earned drink at the end of the day. The spectacular Monsal Trail, an 8.5 mile former railway line, now a traffic free track for cyclists or walkers taking in the stunning surrounding countryside, is just on your doorstep.
The lovely market town of Bakewell is a short drive away or you could walk or cycle via the Monsal Trail. Historic houses including Chatsworth house, Haddon Hall and Hardwick Hall are just a short car journey away, making this cosy holiday home a lovely retreat at any time of the year.

Excellent accommodation. The kitchen was well equipped. The cottage was very clean and we particularly liked the spacious bathroom, shower and the two handfasting. The location was excellent being close to three pubs, a bus stop and the Monsal Trail. Would recommend it and would definitely go again.

Lovely spacious cottage adjoining the owner's house. Spotlessly clean & immaculately presented, the owners have thought of everything you might need, plus extra thoughtful touches like fresh bread, milk & butter, and a sweet treat! Perfectly located for exploring the beautiful Peak District, with lovely walks from the door if you don't want to take the car. I'm already planning my next visit!
