Bickleigh 1 mile.
Figtree cottage is situated on the steep slopes overlooking the stunning Exe valley in Mid Devon.
A wooden construction by Swedish experts, this detached Devon cottage sits on the site of an old sheep shearing shed.
The cottage is in a peaceful rural location, a mile from the noted beauty spot of Bickleigh.
Local wildlife can often be seen in the area such as deer, hawks and buzzard, plus sheep and cattle in the fields next door to the cottage. On the grounds of the owners' house, Fig tree cottage has its own private driveway, with far-reaching, stunning, countryside views and spacious rooms, ideal for a family looking to enjoy a cottage holiday in Devon.
There is a sitting room with lovely oak floor, warming wood-burning stove and large TV with surround sound.
The kitchen/dining room is a bright, sunny room overlooking the picturesque garden.
In this Devon cottage, there are also four large, beautifully furnished bedrooms, one en-suite, with two further bathrooms situated over the ground and first floors, for convenience.
The large, private garden at your Devon cottage is a perfect place to enjoy the panoramic views on a summer's day. The garden is west-facing and during the summer months the sunsets are breath-taking.
Even in peak summertime this part of Mid Devon is tranquil and quiet.
A walk up the lane reveals a different, but equally stunning, view from every gateway.
Just one mile down the lane from the cottage, is Bickleigh Mill, a historic water mill, café and gift shop, where you can spend the day dining alfresco by the River Exe. The cottage is situated within easy driving distance of both Dartmoor and Exmoor National Parks.
Visit one of the many National Trust houses in the area surrounding your Devon cottage, or visit the small market town of Tiverton nearby.
Explore the historic city of Exeter with its impressive cathedral, excellent shopping malls, galleries, bars and restaurants.
The cottage is midway between Devon’s north and south coastlines, convenient for a day out to either.
A stay at this well-appointed Bickleigh cottage will certainly be a Devon family holiday to remember.

Beautiful cottage with home from home feel very well equipped for all. Kids loved the huge garden, and the hot tub was a great way to relax at the end of our busy days, Ali and Dave are the most perfect hosts and the little treats are very welcome. We will most definitely be going back to this wonderful cottage.

We had an amazing time at Fig Tree cottage. The cottage was clean and spacious, set in beautiful grounds. The hot tub was much needed after days out exploring the many attractions Devon has to offer. Thanks to Dave and Ali for the welcome goodies and Dave's homegrown vegetables! 100% recommend Fig Tree cottage.

We really enjoyed our stay in the beautiful Figtree Cottage. Everything we needed was there and the beds are very comfortable. Plenty of space and in a nice quiet location. The welcome basket was a lovely bonus. The hot tub was great, very warm, private and great after a day out. Lovely owners, friendly and helpfull and were available if we needed anything. Thank you Dave and Ali!
