A lovely, traditional, stone-built property, River Cottage is the gable end of a row of quaint cottages situated on a steep hillside in the pretty village of Youlgreave, 4 miles from Bakewell.
The cottage is full of charm and character with a delightful sitting room and a mature garden area with lovely views of the surrounding countryside.
Due to the exceptional location of this cottage, the only noise that you will hear is the sound of the river.
A footpath leads from the cottage down to the Bradford Dale valley bottom where there are lovely riverside walks and numerous picnic spots, while Youlgreave's old pubs and magnificent church are just a short stroll away.
An ideal romantic retreat from which to explore the beauty of the surrounding National Park, Bakewell, with its regular market, Matlock and the unmissable Chatsworth House.

A charming stone, end terraced cottage, situated on a hillside in the lovely village of Youlgreave, this lovely property is full of character. The cosy and inviting sitting room, with its dining area, is a comfortable place to relax in after the rigors of a busy day's sightseeing. There are two delightful bedrooms, one double and one adult bunk bedroom with a double on the bottom and a single on the top. They are both beautifully decorated and offer a tranquil haven in which to enjoy a good night's sleep. The bathroom is elegant, modern and well appointed, outside there is a front patio with furniture and a barbecue and a footpath leads from the cottage to the Bradford Dale Valley bottom. This property is a lovely base from which to explore this wonderful area. Please note the property can only accept bookings starting on Friday's or Monday's. Note: The cottage is accessed by a steep narrow footpath approx 4 mins walk from the available parking.
Guests must bring their own towels, tea towels and oven gloves (they are no longer provided)

We had a lovely week at River Cottage.
It was very cosy and warm.
The garden faces the river gorge below and is just beautiful.
Youlgreave is a charming village and the accommodation is perfect for walkers. Lots of local circular walks.

Beautiful place with outstanding views from the garden, directly off the footpath to the river. It is a proper fully equipped, old fashioned air bnb (not an investment property pretending to be a hotel). Easy heating system and loads of hot water. The access is via a very steep path so suitable for strong fit walkers.

This place is so Beautiful. A little slice of heaven in a gorgeous little valley!
I stayed with my 8yr old son and 10yr old daughter and they absolutely loved it! They asked me to say that the cottage is gorgeous and they want to go back next year!
The walk down from the road is what sets it apart for us, if a true peaceful getaway is what you're truly after.
