A delightful Grade II listed terraced cottage in the popular market town of Middleham.
Set over three floors, the character of this old building is showcased with original features such as exposed beams and stonework.
This large property is ideal for families or groups of friends looking for a relaxing countryside break in a charming town on the outskirts of the glorious Yorkshire Dales.
On the ground floor, the spacious kitchen diner complete with sofas to lounge on, is at the heart of this impressive cottage and provides a wonderful space to socialise and enjoy food and drink together.
For those of the group who would like to break away, the sitting room is the ideal spot to relax in front of the woodburning stove and put your feet up while watching one of your favourite shows.
On the first floor you will find two inviting bedrooms, one double and one twin.
The floor is complete with a family bathroom.
Hidden away up on the second floor, the large master bedroom awaits, providing peace and quiet from the rest of the cottage.
Outside, the private garden is a perfect spot to relax and enjoy alfresco dining or simply a drink as you take in the fresh country air. A short stroll from the doorstep brings you to Middleham’s amenities, with local eateries and excellent old pubs nearby.
On the idyllic main street you will often see horses riding past, as there are many stables in and around the town centre.
You will also find a fascinating 12th century castle, where you can pay a small fee to enter and relive the castle’s illustrious history. A five minute drive will also bring you to the neighbouring town of Leyburn, where you will find a busier high street, full of bakeries, pubs, cafes and also a local supermarket.
Also in Leyburn is The Forbidden Corner, a 4-acre garden with a labyrinth of tunnels, follies and other surprises.
Slightly further afield you will find Hawes, where you can visit the Dales Countryside Museum.
Other attractions in the area include the Wensleydale Creamery, Jervaulx Abbey and Aysgarth Falls. With the Yorkshire Dales waiting to be explored, this charming Middleham cottage is a perfect holiday base for families looking for that well-earned break.

Stayed a week in this huge and very quirky house just 100yds from the beautiful village square of the lovely Middleham. Been visiting for over 30 years and definitely one of the comfiest houses we have stayed in. It also had the added bonus of a lovely garden where we managed to catch some late summer sun. Five of us stayed there very comfortably, wouldn't hesitate to return.

Very well positioned property. Well equipped with plenty of crockery, utensils etc.
Clean throughout with plenty of character in an old fashioned way. The log burner and the fireplace in the lounge was very impressive.
Parking not always available outside the property, but always an alternative place to park nearby.
We very much enjoyed our stay in Prospect house in the delightful Middleham.
