Tucked away in Charlestown, approached over 100 yards of private hardcore lane, an attractive single-storey detached cottage converted from an old barn.
At the back, a meadow adjacent to a playing field (setting for the village regatta). In front, gravelled access to the cottage and to the friendly owners' house; to one side, a neat paved area (table/chairs). From garden, double doors into open-plan living/dining/kitchen (dishwasher, microwave, fridge, gas hob/electric oven) with TV. Two bedrooms, both with big floor-to-ceiling windows between original granite pillars - a double (5' bed) with en suite shower-room (suite), and a twin.
Bathroom (suite, shower over bath). External utility room (washing machine). A comfy base within walking distance of three pubs, restaurants and the beach and within easy reach of good golf and beautiful gardens to visit. Charlestown: tiny, picturesque, 18th century harbour (coarse sand beach, three pubs/restaurants, museum, church, tea rooms, cottages) on the Coast Path, from which ships once took copper and china clay around the world, now loved by film-makers (Poldark, Dr Who). St Austell (town, leisure centre, mainline railway), ½ mile.
Eden Project, 4 miles; Lost Gardens of Heligan, 6½.

This was our second stay, and on this occasion, in difficult circumstances because of my health.
The weather was not the best but our stay was nonetheless most refreshing and fulfilling. That was due in no small part to the nature of the cottage itself but also the kindness and consideration of our hosts..

Beautifully appointed and ideally situated cottage with very helpful and friendly owners. We were fortunate enough to visit during Regatta Week and enjoyed several of the events without having to worry about parking etc!
We would comment that the single bed could do with an upgrade, everything else was superb.

Beautiful peaceful & cosy cottage, with everything we needed, only 5 mins walk to charming Charlestown harbour.
Hosts Nicky and Peter were lovely & friendly, there if we needed them but otherwise left us in peace.
Would definitely love to return. Thank you.
