Gwrtheyrn is a traditional 14th century semi-detached farmhouse, once the home of the Lords of Gwrtheyrn, and is believed to be one of the oldest houses in Wales.
Located on the owners working farm, surrounded by fields and countryside, situated in the Snowdonia National Park on the outskirts of the coastal village of Dyffryn Ardudwy.
This charming cottage is a perfect base from which to explore the many attractions and beaches the area has to offer and would suit couples, friends and is also great for families.
The house has a wealth of original oak beams and panels, beautifully complimented by more modern handcrafted oak ledge and brace doors with wrought iron furniture, modern kitchen and bathrooms and lovely soft furnishings.
Lovingly renovated and restored offers an extremely warm Welsh welcome, the charm and character is in abundance, starting with the sitting room which has plenty of comfortable seating and boasts an impressive inglenook fireplace with open fire.
The kitchen is well-appointed with integrated appliances, extending to a well-proportioned dining area is a lovely place to sit as a family and enjoy a late supper or a more leisurely breakfast before setting out on a day’s adventure.
There is a ground floor bedroom with en-suite shower room, ideal for guests who may find stairs a little challenging.
Three further bedrooms, all individually styled are arranged on the first floor and serviced by a shower room and a family bathroom.
Outside, the private garden and picnic area adds to the luxury and homely atmosphere of this farmhouse.

Hosting four bedrooms; a king-size, twin (accessed through the king-size bedroom, a double, and a ground floor twin with en-suite shower room, along with a family shower room, and bathroom, this property can sleep up to eight people. Inside you will also find a kitchen with dining area, an external utility, and a sitting room with open fire. TV with Freeview, iPod dock, DVD player, WiFi and a selection of books and DVDs which are rotated on changeover so that every guest stay has books/DVDS that have been quarantined and guests of course are welcome to bring their own board games etc. To the outside is off-road parking for three cars, lockable bike storage, and a rear garden with lawned area and patio with picnic bench. Gwrtheyrn is a characterful cottage in a lovely part of Wales. Please note: This property accepts a maximum of 8 people including infants.

Beautiful,clean and comfortable old farmhouse in a wonderful quiet location, with large garden, play area and games room for the kids.
The owners Gwen and Rich were very welcoming and helpful always on hand if you needed anything.
We had a fantastic holiday and would definitely return and recommend.

Beautiful old farm cottage, well equipped and in lovely location. Very welcoming hosts. Only slight criticism was it took a day or two to remember to duck the low beams but it was all part of the farmhouse’s character. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely cottage which plenty of room for 8 of us. Beautiful location and surroundings. Ideally located to access the beach and local towns. Cottage is very well equipped. Would love to visit again. And we were very lucky with the weather!
