Gun Hill Cottage should certainly be at the top of your list if you're searching for a rural retreat for the family or with friends in this idyllic part of England.
Care and attention has gone into its refurbishment with no expense spared in making this a really comfortable and homely place to stay.
The pretty, rose-covered, weather-boarded exterior will certainly catch your eye as you venture up the front path.
Once inside you'll be won over by the charming character the cottage exudes, with its original features such as the beamed ceilings, yet all the comforts you'd expect from a contemporary home are there for you to enjoy.
Subtle tones dominate throughout adding to the feeling of tranquillity.
There is plenty to entertain here and, on request, the dining room can be converted to a games room with a pool table (in which case the entrance room will become a dining room).
Outside you have a third of an acre of garden to enjoy as well as a lovely pond to lounge by at the end of a busy day.
Gun Hill Cottage sits in among the East Sussex countryside in the village of Heathfield, has three bedrooms; one room hosts a double bed and chest of drawers, with the second having a twin bed layout and the third bedroom has one small single bed.
The Kitchen is set out with a fully fitted in ‘Shaker style’, with oven, electric hob, washing machine, microwave, butler sink and door out to the garden. The L-shaped living room with large leather sofa, armchair, TV, DVD player, brick fireplace containing a wood burning double sided stove and double doors out to patio.
Please note a starter pack of logs, kindling, firelighters and matches is included.
Enclosed, third of an acre of garden with a shallow band of woodland behind the cottage supporting a diversity of wild flowers and bird life, Kidney shaped pond with underwater lighting and statue water feature and lawned areas extending into the woodland beyond Gun Hill Cottage.

Ein bezauberndes Häuschen mit schönem Garten! Gut ausgestattet, sehr gemütlich, sauber (thanks to Lisa) und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. An einige Besonderheiten, die alte Häuser nun Mal haben, gewöhnt man sich schnell, auch Dank der Erklärungen des sehr freundlichen Owners. Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt und bedanken uns herzlich!

We spent 3 nights over Christmas at Gunhill Cottage. It was lovely and warm and cosy, clean and the fire was great. A perfect place to spend Christmas. Upstairs is very compact but not uncomfortable, smaller than downstairs though. Kitchen was well equipped but the oven door doesn't fully shut, could do with an upgrade in our opinion. Over all we had a great stay

We had a great time. The cottage was lovely, clean and well equipped. The garden was lovely to sit in in the evening .
The foodie pub was a 5min walk up the road too, an extra bonus.
We would definitely stay there again.
