This 14th century, Grade II listed dwelling rests along the River Avon, near the River Severn, and makes an idyllic base for a friends and family getaway to the wonderful Cotswolds.
After an adventure filled day, be welcomed into charming interior which has sympathetically retained a wealth of its original features, including exposed beams and slopping ceilings.
Rustle up an evening meal within the amply equipped kitchen, before joining the rest of the group within the dining area to plan the day’s ahead over a delicious home-cooked meal.
You can look forward to cosying up within the sitting area of an evening with your loved ones to catch up on your favourite TV shows before retiring for the evening to the first and second.
On the first floor you will find a stylish super king-size double bedroom and a bathroom, where you can choose to soak within the bath after a busy day exploring the historic riverside town and a second-floor king-size double bedroom.
During the warmer months, you can enjoy a cooling beverage within the cottage’s private courtyard whilst discussing the days adventures.
Wander into town, where you can enjoy fine dining at The Abbot’s Table, hearty pub fare at The New Plough, and relaxed dining at Rosado Lounge, perfect for when you don’t fancy cooking! Within the town, you can also follow the Severn Way with a sweet treat in hand from Riverside Café, tour The John Moore Countryside Museum and the Tewkesbury Museum, a fascinating 12th-century abbey, and the historic Tewkesbury Battlefield, well-known for being one of the most decisive battles during the War of the Roses.

River Cottage is a mid-terrace cottage resting within the town of Tewkesbury. A very nice cottage, well placed for visiting the abbey and riverside walks, as well as the town centre and shops. Our only difficulty came before leaving when we were unable initially to contact the owner to supply needed info about parking. Trying to contact Sykes/Manor as an alternative was hopeless as they do not answer the phone.

The location, facilities, cleanliness, etc. were excellent, one of the best cottages we have visited. The car parking was not a problem, the car park was only a short walk through Victoria Garden, the entrance of which was just over the road. Good pubs, restaurants and ealks all nearby. Would certainly recommend.

My second stay at this lovely cottage, my fav in the area and have tried several others. Well equipped and furnished and so well situated for the Abbey and town center. Very helpfull and friendly owners. Cannot fault.
