Situated on the edge of one of the prettiest villages in the Cotswolds, Thrower's Cottage has been lovingly restored by its current owners and is an ideal retreat for those looking to escape into the countryside and enjoy the peace and quiet that this region has to offer. Inside the cottage is gorgeously cute, with 2 separate seating areas to provide those moments of quiet relaxation, the lower ground floor providing a wonderful open-plan seating, dining and kitchen area, complete with the obligatory log-burning stove (starter pack of logs supplied). Outside your enclosed garden gives you stunning views across the glorious Cotswolds countryside (ideal for the very welcome pooch should you wish to bring it) . There is also a charcoal bar b q for guests to use.
The historic village of Blockley is very peaceful and picturesque, yet benefits from having two pubs and a community owned village shop & café, as well as a historic Norman church in the centre of the village.
Numerous beautiful country walks are accessible directly from the cottage and Blockley is well located for visiting the many beautiful towns and villages of the Cotswolds. Truly idyllic.
If you jump in your car you can be in Stratford in no time as well as the lovely local National Trust houses like Hidcote, Kiftsgate and Bourton House.

Thrower's Cottage is a lovely, period terraced terraced property in the village of Blockley. It has been recently refurbished and is presented in a very attractive style. On the ground floor is located one of the sitting rooms, complete with Smart TV, dvd player (and a selection of dvd's) and the family bathroom, boasting both a bath and a separate walk-in shower. Upstairs are the 2 bedrooms; one a comfortable double room, whilst the 2nd has twin beds.
On the lower ground floor you will find a wonderful open plan fitted kitchen, dining area and seating area - complete with log-burner, smart T.V. and Bose Bluetooth speaker. Outside there is beautifully presented garden, with multiple seating areas and charcoal bar bbq. Parking is on street and unrestricted. Thrower's Cottage is the ideal countryside retreat for friends and families. Please note the property has one flight of very steep stairs up from the first floor to the bedrooms on the second floor. Guests need to be aware that this is an old property and has many character features and that both bedroom doors open directly onto the steep stairs. One well-behaved dog welcome at an additional charge of £25.00.

Please note that the garden at Thrower's Cottage is maintained by a local Gardening company. The gardeners tends to the garden area throughout the year. Whilst the gardeners hours are flexible they cannot provide advanced notice of their schedule but will not require access to the inside of the property.
Pets need to be kept on the lower ground floor; access to this is by the covered walk way to the left of the cottage, and across the neighbour's land (the owners of Thrower's Cottage have a right of way).

Great location to explore the Cotswolds and fantastic cafe and pub/restaurant in walking distance. House has everything you need and kitchen well stocked with pans/frying pans etc for a week. Care should be taken with young families (or older people) as the stairs is very steep to the bedrooms.

A cosy cottage set in a beautiful village. The cottage is very comfortable and met all our needs. Very well equipped. The garden area is very pretty with plenty of seating for sunny evenings. We would definitely return but we found the stairs a problem. We are older guests and for younger people it won't be an issue as there are plenty of handrails.

Thrower’s Cottage is exactly as described. The staircase to the rooms is an adventure for everyone below sixty. Privacy is not part of the package as the vintage doors are just covering the doorframes.
Beds are comfortable; kitchen is well equipped. It is the lovely central location with an amazing view. The herd of reindeer is just splendid to watch.
