Named after its superb location set within the town’s historic 17th-century Toll House and enjoying easy access to all the local amenities and Melrose Abbey, The Toll House is an ideal dog-friendly dwelling for a couple and their canine companion who are looking for their next holiday to Scotland.
Step into the property, where you will find a well-equipped kitchen, complete with handy washing machine, where you can rustle up a romantic meal, ready to be enjoyed at the dining table for two over a bottle of fizz.
After your meal, curl up on the plush sofa and select your favourite film from the Smart TV as the evening’s entertainment.
Wash away the day with a refreshing rinse in the large walk-in shower, before climbing into the sumptuous double bed to catch your rest.
In the morning, prepare for the day in style with your own dressing area in the bedroom, before heading out to the shared courtyard to savour a steaming cup of coffee as you plan the day ahead.
Explore the local town which has so much to offer, including an excellent selection of pubs and restaurants, including the Ship Inn, The Provender, as well as the Rak Thai Takeaway if you would prefer to dine in the comfort of The Toll House.
Be sure to check out the town’s historic attractions which include the imposing 14th-century Melrose Abbey with its own museum, Abbotsford The Home of Sir Walter Scott, and the Trimontium Museum, if that’s not your thing why not enjoy the delights of the idyllic gardens on offer, including the vibrant Priorwood Garden National Trust for Scotland and the Harmony Garden. Just a 5-minute walk away is the River Tweed, renowned for its world-class salmon fishing. If it’s scenic walks you are looking for, you can easily access the famous 62-mile Cuthbert’s Way which begins at the abbey and ends at the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, or perhaps take a stroll across the River Tweed to two superb restaurants, The Hoebradge Inn and Seasons.

Please Note: December 2025, property can only accept a 7 night booking from 22nd - 29th December. The living areas in the property consist of a kitchen with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine and a living/dining room with dining seating for two and Smart TV. There is a double bedroom and a shower room. Outside there is a shared enclosed courtyard with furniture and off-road parking in the nearby car park, roadside parking is also available. Within 0.1 miles you will find a shop and pub, and please note that this is a non-smoking property. WiFi, fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the price. One well-behaved dog is welcome. Whisk your loved one away for a romantic getaway at The Toll House. Note: this property will only accept five or more night bookings over the weekend of the 8th of April. Note: over the weekend of the 8th of April there is an event which causes the town to become very busy and very loud, please call us if you require further information.Note: The property has a minimum of a 3 night stay

Melrose is a lovely town. Enjoyed the museum, the gardens, the Abbey and the restaurants. Loved the Great Scottish Tapestry, shopping in Peebles and the beautiful surrounding countryside.
