La Cala de Mijas
The location of La Valvega is unique. It is situated on the edge of the beautiful old fishing village of La Cala de Mijas. La Cala is a little gem on the eastern Costa del Sol. La Cala is known for its wide sandy beach and a developing restaurant scene (Spanish, Indian, Italian, British, Thai, etc.) Try Elliott Wright's famous Olivia's la Cala restaurant and cocktail bar with live music. There are also many bars and terraces, shops and local markets and, last but not least, there are several golf courses nearby. The promenade along the beach is also a must. From the old watchtower in La Cala, you can walk along the beach to the marina of Cabopino via the beautiful footpath (el sendero). (Total 6.8km) The old watchtower in La Cala is just 1km from La Valvega. The Torre de La Cala is a point of interest.
