The perfect romantic retreat, Stable Cottage is a one bedroom holiday home nestled in the North Yorkshire countryside. Located in the village of Cropton, near Pickering, you’ll be surrounded by beautiful scenery. This charming cottage boasts 47 acres of land for you to explore including meadows and a river. A peaceful retreat for two, Stable Cottage is a getaway to remember.
The Space
Stable Cottage is part of an estate with 12 cottages called Beck House Cottages. You’ll have lots to discover during your stay as the private land on the estate includes acres of meadows, a river and animals, including horses, goats and chickens, roaming the grounds. Yours to explore, the outside space is a real bonus right on your doorstep. You can enjoy a peaceful walk with your dog or sit by the river and watch the world go by.
Stable Cottage is a single level property boasting an open plan kitchen, living and dining area, a homely bedroom and a modern bathroom.
With a vaulted ceiling, exposed beams and a traditional fireplace, the living space has the ultimate cosy cottage feel. Unwind on the leather sofa and turn on the digital Smart TV to catch up on your favourite shows.
Sharing this space is the kitchen and dining area. Traditional in style, the kitchen suits the cottage perfectly. With modern appliances, such as a microwave, electric oven, hob and fridge / freezer, you’ll be able to prepare home cooked meals during your stay. The dining area features a wooden table and two dining chairs.
Stable Cottage’s bedroom boasts a comfy double bed, as well as plenty of storage space for your belongings.
The bathroom is a recently refurbished modern space with a shower, wash basin and WC.
The shared grounds at Beck House Farm are simply stunning. If nature is your thing, you really will be spoiled when staying at Stable Cottage. Visit the horses, hens and goats, or enjoy a peaceful stroll around the site.
Stable Cottage is part of the Beckhouse Cottages site which is also home to Cleveland Bay Cottage, Cornflower Cottage, Daisy Cottage, Dovecote Cottage, Granary Cottage, Honeysuckle Cottage, Jasmine Cottage, Primrose Cottage, Rose Cottage and Willow Lodge. In total, all properties sleep 50 guests in total. Please contact our friendly team to enquire about availability.

Private on-site parking is available at Stable Cottage. Please note that there are 3 on-site electric vehicle chargers and these all operate on a first come, first served basis.
A wheelchair ramp can be arranged upon request prior to your stay.

The Neighborhood
Located in Cropton on the outskirts of Pickering, you’ll be surrounded by beautiful scenery. Dating back at least 2,000 years, the small village is packed with history and character. Traditional stone houses and cottages line the main street making it postcard perfect.
The ideal base for a relaxing getaway, Cropton borders the North York Moors National Park. This vibrant landscape is formed of stunning heather moorland, a rich heritage, an array of wildlife and a spectacular coastline.
If you’re looking to immerse yourself in local history, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to museums in the area. Head to the Beck Isle Museum in Pickering or Ryedale Folk Museum in Hutton-le-Hole. If you’d prefer to get your adrenaline racing, head to Flamingo Land. A short 20-minute drive from Cropton, this theme park and zoo will provide a fun-filled family day.
If you’re looking to explore the area via train, the North Yorkshire Moors Railway operates steam trains along an 18 mile line between the market town of Pickering and the village of Grosmont, through the heart of the North York Moors National Park.
Getting Around
Two bus routes stop in Cropton. The 173 runs between Pickering and the pretty village of Rosedale, whilst the M6 operates from York to Pickering.
The closest train station can be found in Malton. From here, you’ll have direct access to Scarborough and York, with connecting routes to Leeds, Newcastle, Manchester and Liverpool.
