Set around a pretty courtyard on the friendly owner’s working farm, as a former milking parlour it’s full of character, with exposed beams and a high vaulted ceiling.
It boasts underfloor heating and makes a wonderfully cosy retreat for couples. In nearby Middlewich (10 minutes) you’ll find ample amenities together with a beautiful meandering canal system perfect for towpath cycling or strolls, and 15 minutes in the other direction is the pretty half-timbered town of Nantwich which offers good shopping and quite uniquely a seasonal outdoor salt swimming pool.
Halfway between Chester (45 minutes) and Manchester (60 minutes) the location is within easy reach of a whole host of visitor attractions including many National Trust properties such as Tatton Park, Little Moreton Hall and Dunham Massey which can all be reached in around 30 minutes.
The castles of Beeston, Cholmondley and Peckferton can also be reached in around 30 minutes as can Delamere Forest and Wild Shore Delamere.
Chester Zoo and the Blue Planet Aquarium are around a 45-minute drive as is the Peak District National Park. Swapping coast for countryside you can reach the coastal areas of North Wales and Liverpool in around an hour, or the thrills and spills of Britain’s premier theme park, Alton Towers.

Me, my partner and baby had a great stay at the dairy barn. The host was very helpful and friendly which made us feel at ease straight away :)
The location is great- we visited Chester, Liverpool and surrounding areas. Local towns have great shops nearby.
The barn had everything you needed for the stay.

Excellent small cottage with well equipped kitchen. Comfortable and roomy bedroom. Walk in shower was nice to use. Door from lounge/kitchen out to small garden that was nice to sit out in the evening. Friendly owner gave us a warm welcome. Good place to explore Cheshire - we visited Nantwich, Chester, Salt museum at Northwich and the Anderton boat lift. Also visited the Moorcroft Pottery in Stoke.
