Stainton has a fantastic pub and is easily accessible from the M6 and is perfect for exploring the Lake District and Eden Valley.. 1 step to entrance. The property is a couple of minutes walk from the popular village pub and provides a comfortable base to explore the Northern Lake District and Eden Valley.
With Ullswater and Pooley Bridge just a few miles away from the doorstep you could enjoy one of the many walks, water sports and leisurely steamers.
Alternatively a short drive takes you to the popular market town of Keswick.
There are many walking and cycling trails within the Lake District National Park and numerous places of interest, including Beatrix Potter’s house, Hill Top, Dove Cottage, Go Ape at Grizedale Forest and the Lakeland Motor Museum.
The market town of Penrith is only 10 minutes drive away, where there are a variety of shops, restaurants, supermarkets and pubs.

We stayed at Smithy Cottage for Christmas week and had the best time! The cottage is so cosy and is in such a great location! A 5 min walk from the pub and only a 20 min drive from Keswick! Would definitely recommend and stay here again!

Lovely, clean, comfortable cottage. Well located for exploring the northern lakes.
Small, but enough for three and a dog. On street parking is not a problem as the road is barely used.
