The beach is wide and sandy, and dogs are permitted along the beach all year round, with an area designated dog-free during the summer months. Bacton woods offer another great place to walk and explore.
Nearby places of historical interest include Sheringham Park, Felbrigg and Blicking Halls (all National Trust). The traditional seaside resort of Cromer has pier with its end of pier show, shops and eateries. The city of Norwich, 20 miles away, is a shoppers delight with two indoor shopping malls, market square, theatre, cathedral, castle museum and plenty of eateries. The popular seaside town of Cromer is 7½ miles away, with its famous pier and holiday entertainment.
