The Cottage is a beautifully renovated large home set in the heart of Tideswell, a thriving little village within the Peak District.
Tideswell has a host of amenities on your doorstep, while The Cottage makes a perfect base for larger families or groups to sleep up to 8 guests across 4 bedrooms on 2 floors. Upon entering The Cottage, to the left the reception area leads itself off to the open plan kitchen and dining area, with ample seating for all should you wish to cook up a feast from the fully equipped kitchen, however a host of cuisines are not too far away should you wish to dine in or have delivered.
The marble work surfaces and centre island brings this kitchen up to a modern standard, whilst the exposed brick and features of old exudes charm and character. A large living room and snug area on the ground floor, with TV, Log Burner and ample comfortable seating for all with games, DVD’s and books to keep most entertained, makes this a cosy base for guests to make memories.
Additionally on the ground floor, a bathroom with shower and WC. The 4 bedrooms can be found on the 2nd floor, a Queen size room that can be made as a twin upon request, a King room, double and a twin. On your doorstep is an array of places to frequent whatever your preferences.
The local pub, The Star Inn has a selection of real ales and home cooked food, while the popular Merchants Yard houses locally sourced dishes, but be sure to reserve your place given its popularity! The church next to the cottage, often referred to as the "Cathedral of the Peak", has been ringing its bells in the same way for at least 400 years.
The bells chime every quarter hour throughout the day and night, with additional strikes marking the hour.
This is a longstanding part of village life and, according to local residents, is something that most people quickly become accustomed to and rarely notice after a short time. The towns of Buxton, Bakewell and Matlock are a short drive away, with many attractions from Buxton’s famous Opera House, Bakewell’s tasty tarts to Matlock’s Baths, while the stately Chatsworth House is worthy to behold.
Buxton famously houses a beautiful country park, yet the Peak District and its many walking and cycling routes are there for any type of holiday go-er, whether that be traversing Mam Tor or a leisurely walk around the Deep Dale Nature Reserve, there are plenty options for those wishing to bask in nature. Booking Conditions: - Pet Friendly.
We welcome well behaved owners and their pets, please keep pets off the furniture and beds and do not leave any in the home unattended at any time. - Please indicate if you wish for the Queen bed to be made as 2 singles. - Strictly no smoking. - Bicycle storage via a small courtyard to the rear. - On street public parking available.

Our second new year in the Cottage and really pleased with the upgrades to the bathrooms and bedrooms.
Absolutely no issues during our stay which was lovely.
Spacious accommodation in a perfect location.
All six guests extremely satisfied and would still have had plenty of room for eight if needed.

The location is a perfect base for visiting all places and as a starting place for walks. Excellent eating out if needed - all dog friendly. Accommodation spacious, clean and very well equipped.

Great location in the Peak District and was very easy to get to a lot of the main sites. The house itself was lovely and clean. the only issue is it can be hard to find parking, especially on a Saturday morning. overall, we loved our stay here and would stay again.
