Cross the threshold and unwind in either of the sitting rooms which boast a soothing woodburning stove or crackling open fire, idyllic places to warm your feet in front of the TV after a day full of exploration.

Alternatively immerse yourself in history at the 12th-century ruins of Furness Abbey or The Dock Museum in Barrow-in-Furness, which is also home to Biggar Bank, Sandy Gap and Walney Island Beach with views across the sea. Follow the coast north to find the National Trust’s Haws National Nature Reserve where you can take scenic coastal walks with your beloved canine companion through the dunes on Roanhead Beach with views across to Millom.
Take a short drive into the Lake District National Park to explore the famed lake town of Windermere, where you can take to the water on kayaks, paddle boards or simply admire the views by boat, and Coniston where the brave can try to summit The Old Man of Coniston for breath-taking views.
Experience the wonders of the Lake District and Cumbria at Millwood Manor.
