Find out more about the history of the island with a visit to Kildonan Museum which is a short drive away and visit one of a number of fascinating sites of historical interest including Caistel Bheagram, Ormacleit Castle and Calvay Castle.
Take a day trip to the isle of Barra where you will find a wealth of activities including visiting Kisimul Castle, the ‘castle in the sea’, strolling along any of the fantastic beaches or browsing around the island’s main town of Castlebay.
For an authentic holiday, you can truly get away from it all at Ceannard Cottage.
The islands can be reached by flights from Edinburgh, Glasgow or Inverness; or by ferry from Uig on Skye to Lochmaddy, or Oban to Lochboisdale.

The house was great - very modern, warm and comfortable. It was only 2 miles from the coast and with mountain views, so a great place to explore the area from. Would recommend. Our only minor frustration was being unable to connect directly with the owner to arrange timings etc as the cottage is managed through a third party.

Lovely property, well appointed & comfortable. Mairi is a lovely & interesting host. Weather failed us a bit but we did visit historical sites, the local museum which is excellent, Hebridean jewellery & had a great meal at the Politician pub. Lovely 2days.
