Step into your summer vacation like in the old days! This rustic mountain cabin seems to have sprung from a romantic Heimatfilm.
Here in Mittersill, in the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park, you will experience an authentic alpine summer.
Spend your most beautiful time of the year surrounded by lush alpine meadows and magnificent forests.
In the morning, you will be woken by grazing livestock curiously sniffing at the fence bordering your garden.
Take enough time here to fully savor the here and now.
Your freshly brewed coffee from the wood stove tastes especially good.
In the garden, there is a small herb garden to enhance your delicious cabin dishes. What can you experience here in your summer? Nothing.
You don't have to experience anything here.
Of course, you can experience a lot, be active, hike, and bike – after all, you are in the National Park, and attractions like the Krimml Waterfalls, the Grossglockner High Alpine Road, the National Park Center, natural swimming lakes, and much more await discovery.
But how about simply arriving and letting the surroundings, the landscape, and this holiday home sink in? Your cabin is over 80 years old; it once served as a fodder barn.
The last owners were glass artists.
When sunlight shines through the colorful windows, a play of colors is created.
The "cabin experience" is paramount here: cooking on a regionally typical stove that must be heated first.
The cozy living room with an open fireplace – you can even grill indoors here.
Evening romance by candlelight.
Running water has only recently been installed in the cabin.
However, only on the ground floor.
The unique view of the High Tauern, with the prominent Pihapper peak, is best enjoyed with a relaxed glass of wine after an extensive hike.
About 500 m away on foot, a charming stream babbles.
Children love building dams here and sending small boats made of paper or wood down the valley.
The cabin owners gladly recommend the challenging hikes to the Geißstein, which at 2,363 m is the highest grassy mountain in the Kitzbühel Alps, the Rinnkogel, or the tour to the managed Bürglhütte.
Tip: Around your cabin is a true paradise for mushrooms and cloudberries (blueberries)! Almliesl has a delicious recipe HERE for a chanterelle goulash or for "Moosbee-Tatscherl".
A delight! For your goulash at the cabin, it's best to prepare the dumplings at home.

The last 200 m lead on foot across the meadow to the cabin. In winter: Arrival is only possible to the landlords' farm with a 4WD vehicle or snow chains – 2 parking spaces are reserved for you here.
A footpath of approx. 30 minutes leads to the cabin.
In heavy snowfall, the cabin can only be reached with snowshoes or touring skis. Als Naturliebhaber gehst du vor die Hütte und in den Wald und bist glücklich.
Dafür kann aber die Hütte nichts: meine Größe war speziell für die Türen nur sehr bedingt geeignet, daher hatte ich jeden Tag leider "Zusammenstöße".
