But it's not just the overwhelming panorama that makes the 150-year-old Leeberghof a special gem of Upper Bavarian hotel and gastronomy.
The house, owned from 1917 by Royal Commercial Councilor Georg Theodor Pschorr from the Munich brewery dynasty, has offered a successful mix of nostalgia and international glamour since being taken over by hotelier Johannes Rabl in 2017.
The rooms are named "Ludwig Thoma," "Jennerwein," or "Sissi's Loge," and just as their names are diverse, so is their interior.
None of the 15 living dreams are alike, yet they have one thing in common: a personal and individual touch.
The Wuidara Bar, on the other hand, brings international flair to the Leeberghof, located high on the mountain.
The award-winning bar is a meeting point and stage not only for hotel guests but also for the "who's who" of Lake Tegernsee. "Engaging and captivating inside, vast and breathtaking outside," is how many regular guests describe it.
The culinary offerings at the Leeberghof are characterized by Bavarian classics and international crossover cuisine.
The dedicated crew around Head Chef Roland Sternkopf sources game from local hunters, fish fresh from Lake Tegernsee fishermen, and dairy products from ecologically working farmers in the region.
The herb garden is located right behind the house, and even the jams for breakfast are homemade.
