Close to Garstang and Longridge, gateway towns to the Forest of Bowland designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is ideal for those who love the great outdoors with some of the best walking and cycling opportunities in Lancashire. Other activities available locally include birdwatching, fishing and golf.
Whilst the property enjoys a quiet rural location, it is very accessible and there are lots to see and do within easy driving distance. Lancashire’s beautiful Ribble Valley is just 14 miles away from the bustling market town of Clitheroe with its hilltop castle and nearby Pendle Hill. The university town of Lancaster, is 17 miles, with its aqueduct and castle. Preston, 10 miles away, has many shops and a mainline train station for London and Glasgow.
For those who enjoy the seaside, the Fylde Coast, with popular resorts including Blackpool with its beach, piers, pleasure beach and famous tower, and Lytham St Annes, is just 25 miles away. I recently stayed at the Five Barred Gate Barn with my husband for a Christmas Break and had the most lovely break. I will be looking to book this place again and would recommend highly. The property itself is of a high standard, inside and out. It has all the amenities that you could want or need and the area is perfect.

Loved our time at Five Barred Gate Barn. It was a lovely warm cottage with modern kitchen & Shower room. It had a wood burner and everything else you could want. We were also left a welcome basket of bread milk & eggs.
