Egerton House Penrith, having recently undergone a full restoration the cottage retains many original features but decorated and furnished in a contemporary style to provide spacious and luxurious accommodation for couples or families looking for a convenient base from which to explore Cumbria. Egerton House is centrally located in the bustling town and within a short walk of the town centre with boutique shops, pubs, restaurants and a cinema. With a Marks & Spencers Food Hall, Sainsburys and Morrisons shopping for local ingredients to rustle up a feast is convenient. Within 200 yards is the leisure centre with swimming pool and gym. The town (known locally as the Gateway to the Lakes) is just a 10 minute drive to Lake Ullswater, if you are arriving without the car, the railway station is within walking distance. This spacious 4 bedroom town house is ideal for families holidaying together or a group of friends looking for a relaxing break away.
Access to the townhouse is via a tiered garden and steps leading to the entrance porch. The lounge is full of character with original decorative archways and ceiling rose, comfortable leather sofas are positioned around the ornamental period fireplace and Smart TV, gather together and relax whilst watching a film. The breakfast kitchen provides a spacious area for preparing a family feast with all modern appliances including an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher which can be enjoyed at the dining table. This is the perfect place to linger with a morning coffee whilst you plan your day ahead.
The lower ground floor has a sitting room perfect for unwinding with a good book and leads to the courtyard garden with seating. The spacious utility room has a washing machine and tumble dryer and ample space to store walking boots and coats. Shower room with hand basin and WC.
As evening descends and bed beckons make your way to the comfortable, spacious and characterful bedrooms, to the first floor there are 2 double bedrooms with ensuite shower room and the second floor has a double bedroom with en-suite shower room and twin bedroom with bathroom, from the front bedroom there is rooftop views towards Penrith castle and distant fells.
All gas, electric, bed linen and towels provided. There are 2 cots and highchairs available. On street parking nearby on a first come basis, immediately outside is disk parking. There is paid parking opposite in Sainsburys. The front garden is planted with shrubs. The rear courtyard garden has table and chairs for alfresco dining or relaxing with a glass of wine on a summers evening along with a sandstone outhouse providing storage for bikes.
