Welcome to your perfect coastal escape – a breathtaking period home with panoramic sea views, nestled in arguably the finest location in the picturesque, unspoilt village of Kingsand.
Penley Villa sits right on the edge of the village, offering uninterrupted views over Cawsand Bay and one of the UK's most captivating seaways, dotted with naval and pleasure craft. Once known as “The Glasshouse,” the house faces due south, filling every room with light from sunrise to sunset.
Enjoy ever-changing sea views from nearly every room at the front of the house. With five characterful reception rooms and a bright, south-facing conservatory opening onto a peaceful terrace garden, this home offers a sense of serenity any time of year. Inside, the property is decorated with a carefully curated collection of period pieces, and quirky treasures adding a rich sense of history and timeless elegance throughout.
Each room tells a story, with thoughtful touches that reflect the heritage and charm of the house. The spacious, fully equipped kitchen blends modern convenience with traditional character.
A stunning lantern roof light floods the room with natural light, and the large central island makes it a sociable space for gathering.
Evening meals are a delight with an Range cooker and a Rangemaster dual-fuel oven, while the adjacent pantry, utility room, and store provide all the practical touches for longer stays. Upstairs, you'll find five beautifully appointed bedrooms, most with sweeping sea views.
Two stylish bathrooms complement the bedrooms – one includes a Jacuzzi bath, rainfall shower, and heated towel rails; the second features a shower, basin, and WC. There is also an additional ground-floor WC for convenience. The property offers off-road parking for one vehicle, a rare luxury in Kingsand.
Additional parking can be found in the village car park a short walk away.
Please note: due to its position on the historic Cornish coastline, access to the property is via steps. Located right on the Southwest Coast Path, this home is perfect for walkers, sea lovers, and anyone looking to experience the charm and tranquillity of the Rame Peninsula.
The twin villages of Kingsand and Cawsand are steeped in history, with narrow lanes, colourful cottages, welcoming pubs, and independent shops and eateries. Whether you’re seeking a peaceful retreat, a base for coastal adventures, or a memorable family getaway, this exceptional home full of character, comfort, and coastal charm promises a truly unforgettable stay in one of Cornwall’s most enchanting settings. Expansive views across Cawsand Bay, and the long conservatory is ideal for all-weather ship watching.
The range master oven does not hold the heat, everything took a long time to cook. We wondered if the insulating seal needs replacing?
