Private swimming pool (12.5m x 4.5m at widest point) with wide Roman steps. A 10 minute walk from Ammoudi and the beachfront, Sol is a villa made for slowing down.
From its position on Zakynthos’ untamed northeastern shore, the view from the house encompasses silvery olive groves, a scatter of cypress trees, and the distant blue of the Ionian Sea. This setting feels a world away from the hubbub of busier resorts, yet everything you need is within walking distance. Ammoudi itself has an easy, authentic Greek atmosphere: a handful of family-run tavernas and beachside restaurants set out tables overlooking the water, serving platters of just-caught fish, paired with a glass of Verdea, the island’s distinctive white wine.
The small supermarket makes daily rituals easy, with bread, local honey, and cheeses to take back to the villa.
And when the mood calls for a change of pace, the seaside villages of Alykanas (3.5km) and Alykes (4.5km) are only a short drive away. Inspired by warm Mediterranean tones, Sol’s exterior carries a hint of Moroccan charm.
Terracotta-pink walls and large arches frame the pool terrace and give the feel of a chic boutique hotel.
Inside, there’s an understated elegance: cool stone floors underfoot, wicker chairs and smooth wood, softened by natural linen. The ground floor flows through an airy, open-plan living space with fully-fitted kitchen, and floor-to-ceiling glass doors that open directly to the pool and built-in barbecue.
Mornings here begin with sea breezes drifting in through the open doors.
A bedroom with its own shower room and terrace access makes slipping into the water for an early (or late-night) swim effortless.
Upstairs, two further bedrooms each have an en suite and share a balcony that boasts sea views.
Sol belongs to a trio of villas, ideal for families or friends travelling together but seeking their own space. Beyond Ammoudi, the island unfolds in layers: forested hills once walked by Artemis, rugged cliffs plunging into turquoise water, and timeless villages where bougainvillea spills over whitewashed walls.
You’ll spend your days here swimming, eating, sleeping well, and planning how soon you can return. Being located next door to Luna and Gaia means Sol could be a good choice for an extended family or a group of friends who can be near to each other whilst retaining their own individual space and privacy.
The twin bedroom can also be prepared as a king size double, please request at time of booking. Please note: The Greek Government charge a Climate Tax which is payable by guests staying in hotels and other properties.
For Sol the charge is a flat rate of €2 (£1.74) per night.
For your convenience we will add this amount to your booking, rather than you having to pay it in resort.
