Guests can enjoy the seasonal outdoor swimming pool, which has recently benefited from new fencing and a refurbishment of the poolside area and an open countryside beyond.
The space carries a peaceful atmosphere, ideal for long meals or quiet evenings as the light fades.
The sitting room continues this sense of ease, centred around its impressive inglenook fireplace.
The rustic stone wall adds character, and the woodburning stove becomes the natural focal point on cooler days.
A thoughtful selection of games and books encourage relaxed evenings, while the view of the pool through the window adds a gentle reminder of the outdoor space waiting beyond the door.
The wider setting, with horses grazing in nearby paddocks and sheep moving quietly across the fields, reinforces the atmosphere of a wellbeing‑focused farm stay where switching off feels natural and welcome.
Before reaching the bedrooms, you pass through a hallway with a high vaulted ceiling that rises elegantly above you. The turn of the staircase draws the eye upwards, guiding you towards the upper floor and hinting at the restful rooms that await.
Upstairs, the king-size bedroom enjoys views across the stables and grazing sheep, creating a soothing outlook that feels deeply connected to the landscape, its en-suite offers a private place to unwind.
The family room benefits from uninterrupted countryside views where the horizon stretches softly into the distance, while the twin room provides a peaceful base for friends.
A ground‑floor shower room proves practical after time spent exploring the land or taking part in the therapeutic animal experiences held on the farm.
Outside, the garden becomes an extension of your living space with shared access to a 2 acre conservation dingle.
The seasonal swimming pool adds an uplifting touch during warmer months, while the surrounding fields offer a sense of gentle solitude that defines the whole stay.
At Bryn Y Garreg Cottage, great care has been taken to create a calm, low‑impact environment for guests.
The interiors have been refreshed with 100% natural, VOC‑free paints, while the bedrooms feature solid wooden bed frames and quality foam mattresses selected to reduce metal components and encourage a low‑EMF night’s sleep.
The cottage is maintained with ecologically responsible, essential oil–based cleaning products, and all bed linen and towels are laundered using unperfumed, environmentally friendly detergents.
Guests can also enjoy fresh, naturally sourced borehole water from the farm, all of which contributes to the gentle atmosphere that makes The Wireless-Free Farm such a unique place to stay.
Beyond the garden, this part of Mid Wales offers many ways to connect with nature.
A scenic journey brings you to Lake Vyrnwy, where woodland trails circle the water, a historic stone tower rises from the lake and birdlife thrives in the quiet valleys, or explore the rainbow trails in Dyfnant forest.
The town of Welshpool provides an inspiring day out with Powis Castle, celebrated for its terraced gardens, rich interiors and wide views across the surrounding landscape.
For more water sports head to Bala, where a sweeping lake is framed by mountains and offers leisurely strolls along the shoreline, welcoming local eateries and the lively atmosphere of waterside activity.

Rhiwargor Waterfall — my children really enjoyed walking to the waterfall and enjoyed the relaxed, calm environment, which they struggle to find in cities and crowded places.
The pool wasn’t what we expected
