About the Property
Set within one of Broughty Ferry’s historic hillside neighbourhoods, this charming cottage enjoys a peaceful setting with sweeping views across the village and the River Tay. From the elevated position, you can take in the character of this coastal area, including views towards Broughty Castle and across to Tentsmuir Forest in Fife.
Despite its quiet location, the cottage is just a short five minute walk from the centre of Broughty Ferry, a much loved seaside suburb located four miles east of Dundee.
Here you will find a relaxed coastal atmosphere, with a good mix of independent cafes, restaurants, pubs, and local shops.
The sandy beach and harbour are also close by, offering scenic walks and the chance to spot dolphins along the shoreline. Living Space and Bedrooms The cottage is light and welcoming throughout, with a bright open lounge that makes the most of the surrounding views.
Large glass patio doors lead out onto a modern balcony, creating a lovely space to sit and take in the scenery. There are two comfortable double bedrooms, each with double beds and generous mirrored wardrobe space, offering a practical and relaxing base for your stay. Kitchen and Dining The kitchen is modern and well equipped, providing everything needed for preparing meals during your stay.
Whether you are planning a quiet night in or a relaxed breakfast before heading out, the space is designed to be both functional and easy to use. Outdoor Space Outside, the property continues to impress with a private garden area.
A raised deck offers outdoor seating and dining, ideal for enjoying the views in warmer weather.
There is also a summerhouse, adding an extra space to unwind, along with a barbecue for casual outdoor meals. Please note that the garden is not fully enclosed, and the grounds are set on a hillside, making some areas quite steep.
For this reason, we kindly ask that children and pets are supervised at all times while outside. Location Broughty Ferry is known for its strong sense of community and coastal charm.
The main streets are home to a variety of independent shops, galleries, and eateries, all within easy walking distance of the cottage. The nearby beach stretches for miles and is popular with walkers, families, and wildlife enthusiasts.
Broughty Castle, dating back to the 15th century, sits proudly by the shore and now houses a small museum exploring the area’s history. For those looking to explore further, Dundee offers a range of cultural attractions, including the V and A Museum, while the renowned golf courses at Carnoustie and St Andrews are within easy reach.
There are also coastal paths and cycle routes to enjoy, along with convenient transport links from nearby Broughty Ferry station. Guest Access and Important Information Guests have full access to the cottage, including the private garden and outdoor spaces.
There is a dedicated parking space available, along with additional on street parking on a first come basis. Heating and bed linen are included to ensure a comfortable stay. Have a fantastic stay at FerryView Cottage

Beautiful view and so peaceful.
The property would be unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues. Some very steep hills.

Beautiful cottage in a gorgeous, quiet location. There was actually space for another couple. Bit further from central Dundee than expected, but probably better for it.
Not staffed, and no 24hr contact, so potentially problematic if anything went wrong, but that's splitting hairs.
