Once a thriving fishing village, Fisher Street was at the heart of the local industry, with cottages like this one home to fishermen and their families.
In 1859, a Fitzroy Storm Barometer was sent to the community to help predict the weather, and in 1881, its readings famously helped save the Ferry fishing fleet from disaster.
