Palazzo Brighenti — The Suite of the Risorgimento
Palazzo Brighenti is one of the most significant historic buildings in Pozzolengo, located in Piazza San Martino della Battaglia in the heart of the village, among the moraine hills a stone's throw from Lake Garda.
A 16th century stately home, expanded in the 18th century and transformed in the 20th by the care of the Brighenti family, the building preserves period frescoes, an internal courtyard surrounded by stone walls, and three historic artesian wells.
He is a silent witness to the Battle of San Martino and Solferino in 1859: high officers from opposing sides stayed here simultaneously and without their knowledge — an episode known as “Enemies Under the Same Roof” that embodies the dramas of the Italian Risorgimento. The Suite del Risorgimento is located on the second floor and is a space of 30 square meters where contemporary design communicates with the history of the building.
The open space environment harmoniously integrates a double bedroom with a blue-gray panel headboard and a living area with armchair and desk, maintaining the privacy necessary for rest.
Antique wooden beams cross the ceiling, while the building's historic wooden windows frame panoramic views of the surrounding area and garden , flooding the spaces with natural light throughout the day.
