There is no doubt that it is the beaches of Pembrokeshire that steal the show for visitors coming to the region. One of the most visited ones is the beautiful Saundersfoot beach, a small beach with soft, golden sands, a low tide and an atmosphere that invites you to relax. It's quite popular with families as it's not too big, but still a good size, plus it's close to a harbour where you can get panoramic views of the ocean. Spend the day in the sun, take a dip in the water, have a picnic with your loved ones or venture out to explore the towering hills that frame the beach.

However, if you want a change of scenery, there are also many natural places to discover in Pembrokeshire. A good option is the Hilton Court Gardens, which is located in an old Victorian house, and is nowadays conditioned for those who wish to stroll through its impressive green areas. These gardens look quite idyllic, like something out of a fairytale with their lovely ponds, deep green lawns, and pretty flowers decorating everything in their path. It's a popular spot for weddings because of its magical appearance, but it's also ideal for those looking for an afternoon of relaxation. You can even end your visit on a high note with a visit to the tearooms, cafés and restaurants on the grounds, perfect for recharging your batteries after a long day of exploring.

It is a large, ancient fortification built by the Normans around the 13th century. It is located on top of a hill, and although not much of the original structure is still standing, you can still see some of the remaining buildings. As well as the castle, from this point you can get great views of the beach, and you can also walk down to visit it as it is quiet and very beautiful.

Continuing with the beautiful beaches you can visit in Pembrokeshire is Tenby South Beach. It's a little further away from the crowds, so if you're looking for somewhere to relax without too much hustle and bustle, this is the perfect choice. It's about a mile and a half long, has golden sands, and a low tide, which makes it great for families or for activities such as picnics, walks, sports and so on.

This is a small tidal island located near Tenby Castle. It is approximately 200 metres long, and is mostly limestone with many tidal caves around it. It has passed through many owners throughout history, once a church, then a fortification, then a zoo, but today it is open to the public to explore. Stroll along its walkway, visit the old building that is arranged in the centre at the end of the island, and observe the beautiful nature that surrounds it.

This is an impressive Anglican cathedral built around the 6th century when St David established his monastery at Glyn Rhosyn. It has Gothic architecture, made mostly of sandstone, with a stone wall surrounding it that is approximately four metres high. There are many interesting things to see here, such as a lapidarium with religious stones, a dungeon, a chapel and a huge bell tower.

This place is definitely ideal if you're travelling with the family or if you're looking for a different day out full of things to see. It's an award-winning dinosaur park, where you'll find over 200 life-size dinosaur sculptures throughout the grounds. In addition to this, there is also a cute interactive farm where you can pet cute guinea pigs, while enjoying the fun activities provided by the park's entertainers. There are also playgrounds, ball pools, climbing walls and much more.

Here you can learn more about the history of this region, and how its inhabitants lived centuries ago. This three-storey building was built in the 15th century and, as its name suggests, is an old merchant's house. The interior is preserved as it was in those times, with wooden furniture, beautiful hand-painted tapestries, and interesting ornaments here and there. Take the guided tour of the premises and learn about the life of the owner of this house, while delighting in the beautiful exhibits.

Among the many natural sites in Pembrokeshire, this is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and most popular. This lagoon is located on the north side of Abereiddy beach, and used to be a slate quarry during the 1910s. Because of this, the slate gives a really bright turquoise colour to this body of water, which is surrounded by large cliffs where houses and buildings used to stand. Today it is a popular place for climbers as well as for those who enjoy coasteering.
