What would you not miss around here?

The Étang de Thau, which is the place for sunsets, local oysters, paddleboarding or just a quiet hour by the water. The beaches at Marseillan Plage, long stretches of fine sand for swimming and watersports. And the harbour and old centre of Marseillan, best in the evening, for the restaurants, the markets and the Mediterranean feel of it.

Where do you send guests to eat?

Le St Barth Tarbouriech, for seafood and oysters from the Étang de Thau. Chez Titin, friendly and unpretentious, right by the water, for fresh oysters, gratinéed mussels, prawns and local shellfish. Le Scampi at Marseillan Plage, near the beach, for plancha-grilled cuttlefish, moules-frites and Mediterranean fish. Table à Tapas, for an aperitif or a long evening, with charcuterie, seafood, sangria and local wine. And La Cabane, an oyster bar where you eat shellfish with a glass of local white facing the water.

What's your favourite local event?

The Fête de la Mer et des Traditions Maritimes. It puts Marseillan's Mediterranean side front and centre: things happening on the harbour, music, craft markets, tastings of local produce and shows by the sea. The whole town moves to it, and the sunsets over the Étang de Thau are something.

What do you recommend taking home?

Oysters and other produce from the Étang de Thau, a bottle of regional white wine, Mediterranean crafts, salt, soaps, or a piece of the seaside itself. The local markets and the small shops around the harbour are where to look.

What's your advice for a good stay?

Live at the Mediterranean pace. The best moments are the simplest ones: a coffee on a terrace in the morning, a walk by the water, dinner facing the sunset, or a day at the beach followed by an evening at Marseillan Plage. Go and see Sète, Agde and the Canal du Midi as well, so you get the sea, the heritage and the food.
