Pesapallo, also called Pesis, is a sporting discipline that first appeared in 1910, invented by Lauri Pihkala, a Finnish Olympic athlete who, after designing the rules of pesäpallo, set about the task of spreading it among schools, sports clubs, and later, due to its popularity, it became the official sport of Finland, having a relationship with baseball and cricket. The ball used to play the game is a soft, slow, spherical ball, which is thrown vertically.
