For example, there are a number of natural rock arch formations that you will want to check out while you’re in town, such as Bwa Du and Bwa Gwyn. Or head to Traeth Borth Wen, a lovely sandy beach located just south of Rhoscolyn. While it isn’t a tourist beach, Traeth Borth Wen can get crowded on nice days. If you’re hoping to avoid crowds, check out Traeth Llydan, which is just as lovely but tends to be less congested. Finally, in just 10 minutes by car, you can be at Porth Dafarch, another lovely beach on Holy Island. Porth Dafarch is located on a remote cove, and you can even surf there!

Rhoscolyn is also an excellent destination for a relaxing family holiday. First off, if you drive up to Holyhead (about 15 minutes by car from Rhoscolyn), you can take the kids to the Holyhead Empire Play Centre. But if your kids are a bit older, catch a film at the Empire Cinema, also located in Holyhead. If you would rather spend the day outside, drive up to the north end of the island to Breakwater Country Park. You’ll find beautiful cliffs and sea views at this lovely park, and there is also a children’s play area. Pack a picnic and head out for a walk, or grab a bite at the park’s nearby café. Finally, the Holyhead Maritime Museum is a great place to take the kids if you’re hoping to enjoy an educational experience. Just be aware that the museum is seasonal and doesn’t open during the winter months.

This long-distance walking path winds all the way around the island of Anglesey and covers some 200 kilometres. You can plan a holiday around walking the path, which will lead you past historic landmarks and breathtaking natural sites.

Penrhos Coastal Park is located on the east side of the island and covers around 200 acres. It is a great place to stroll along the beach or go cycling.

Golfers will certainly want to get a tee time at Holyhead Golf Club during their stay in Rhoscolyn. This 18-hole, par-71 course offers lovely views and beautiful landscapes (as well as great golf).

This medieval holy well is a humble yet impressive historic landmark that is worth visiting. It is rumoured that throwing two white quartz stones into the well will cure mental illness.

This large beach is another great place to enjoy a sunny day with the kids. The beach area is equipped with numerous amenities, including a car park, cafés, and toilet facilities.

Finally, be sure to visit these curious ancient stones. They were erected during the Bronze Age, meaning that they’re around 4,000 years old!
